The Original Rod Wall is a long-time favorite, designed to delight the visual and tactile senses while providing an interactive and engaging strengthening experience. It can be mounted on a vertical surface or placed on a table for cooperative engagement. Therapists can use the board to target multiple areas, including fine and visual motor skills, balance, postural control, stereognosis, and reciprocal engagement.
This tactile wall combines visual and vestibular play. It features colorful rods that can be pushed and poked through predrilled holes, helping develop fine motor skills, coordination, and creativity. Users can design and redesign mesmerizing patterns and shapes, making the wall a versatile sensory tool ideal for sensory rooms or therapeutic spaces.
The large-scale pegs present both fine and gross motor challenges, while creativity flourishes with the included 144 rods (16 each in red, green, purple, yellow, orange, blue, and clear; plus 32 black).
The wall is enhanced with dimmable LED lighting to accommodate light sensitivities. The rods fluoresce under UV (black) light, casting dynamic visual effects. For added sensory exploration, rods can be cooled in a fridge and rolled between palms or along the body for a unique tactile experience.
The Rod Wall can be hung on a wall with the included brass clips or set up on a tabletop for shared play and engagement.

KEY SHIPPING DETAILS
Summit Sensory Gym’s custom frames, sensory equipment, and safety padding are large, heavy, or both, which can make shipping and receiving them more challenging. Our products are typically shipped in custom packaging through a 3rd party LTL (Less Than Truckload) freight carrier. Depending on your proximity to our warehouse in Denver, CO, transit time generally ranges from one to two weeks within the 48 contiguous United States and Canada.
If you order only smaller items like handholds, shipments will usually be handled by carriers like UPS, FedEx, or USPS, with no special arrangements needed.
However, if your order includes frames or padding, you’ll need to be ready for delivery.
AFTER YOU RECEIVE SHIPMENT TRACKING INFO
Expect a PHONE CALL from the carrier to arrange the delivery time and details. Be sure to answer these calls promptly to avoid delays.
Arrange for help to unload your delivery. Frames will arrive on a pallet, which you’ll need to unpackage and move to the final location yourself. The driver will only place the pallet at the curb—they will NOT assist with unpacking or moving the shipment.
UPON DELIVERY
DO NOT SIGN for your shipment until you’ve thoroughly inspected both the packaging and products for any damages.
If damages are found, document them immediately in writing and with photos. You must initiate a damage claim with the driver/carrier BEFORE THEY LEAVE.
Contact Summit Sensory Gym (Sales@SummitSensory.com) as soon as possible to discuss the claim and options for replacing or retaining the damaged product.
Please note: If you sign for your shipment without inspecting the products or documenting any damages, you may lose the ability to file a damage claim with the carrier.
Because Summit Sensory Gym products are built to order and are generally very heavy and cumbersome to ship, we do not accept returns.
